PROFILE
I took my first watercolor class while in college at Iowa State University. Unfortunately, it did not go well! I could not figure out how to work with all the variables of that combination of paint and water. I put it aside for many years while working as an interior designer, raising a family, and teaching art to middle and high school students. Watercolor painting was in the back of my mind, however, and someday I would figure it out. Finally, around 10 years ago, I began to pursue this medium and it has become the way I spend most of my time.

And now I love that paint and water combination, the transparency of the medium and how you can layer colors and flow from one color to another.

My work depicts what I find beautiful or interesting around me and I hope it will cause my viewers to pause and notice too.
